Huge Burning of Books May 3 in Germany: Nazi Culture
BERLIN, April 26.--Nazi Germany is preparing the biggest "burning of books" since the Inquisition cosigned "heretical" books to the flames in the Middle Ages and the Arab armies burned the huge library of Alexandria, Egypt, more than a thousand years ago.
Nazi students are busily removing all "Marxist, Jewish and alien books" from the shelves of every German university, to be nailed to a "pole of shame" erected on every campus May 3. Kiel University students yesterday confiscated over 2,000 books, truckloads of Marxist pamphlets, and the works of 28 professors whose ousting they demanded.
On May 10 all "Marxist books and those by Jewish authors" will be publicly burned in a solemn bonfire in every city in Germany, Belle-Alliance-Platz has [been] selected for the book "auto-da-fe" in Berlin. Thousands of books, including the works of Karl Marx, Rosa Luxemburg, Lenin, Magnus Hirschfeld, Thomas Mann, Emil Ludwig, Mehring, Kautsky.
